This refers to HS Code No. 1701 00 00 in the Schedule-2 of ITC(HS)
Classification of Export and Import Items, 2004-09 under which M/s
Indian Sugar Exim Corporation Limited, New Delhi is the designated
agency for export of Sugar to EU under Preferential Quota.
As regards special certification requirements, entries to be made
in document EUR and GSP are as follows:-
(i) Complementary Sugar (White Sugar)
“(Application of Regulation (EC) No. 950/2006. Complimentary Sugar.
Serial No. 09.4315)”.
EUR Form is to be endorsed by Customs at the Port of Shipment and
the GSP Certificate by Export Inspection Agency/Directorate General of
Foreign Trade.

The Director General of Foreign Trade hereby allocates
a quantity of 8200 MTs (Eight Thousand Two Hundred) of raw sugar from
the Free Sale Quota of 2007-2008 (October, 2007 to September, 2008) for
export of Tariff Rate Quota to USA for the fiscal year 2008 (October,
2007 to September, 2008).
2. This refers to HS Code No.1701 00 00 in the Schedule
2 of ITC (HS) Classifications of Export & Import Items, 2004-09 under
which M/s. Indian Sugar Exim Corporation Limited, New Delhi, is the
designated agency for export of Sugar to USA under preferential quota.
3. The existing procedure in respect of preferential sugar export to USA
for issue of GSP Certificate as well as other
certification requirements, if any, prescribed specially for export of
sugar to USA, shall continue to be followed. (Amendments ref

The above amendment shall remain in force till the end of the current financial
year (i.e. 31.3.2007) . Further the transitional arrangements notified under
para 1.5 of the Foreign Trade Policy ,2006 shall not be applicable for export of
sugar against irrevocable Letters of Credit opened on or after 22.6.2006 as the
decision of the Government prohibiting the export of sugar was announced and got
widely publicized on 22.6.2006 in the electronic and print media.
