Quick Tips :

• Do not specify too many parameters, keep it simple.
• Indian Companies names are not available in almost all last 1 year data, avoid searching by names of Indian companies. (Contact us for more info on this)
• Foreign Port names, Country Names are not standardized, avoid searching by them
• All Indian Ports do not have data since 2003. Some of them have been added recently, we will add a Port wise data availability very soon.
• Entering Product and Hs code both will narrow the search, and only those records will picked up where both, product description and HS code match.
• Correct Search Examples
  • Filter* = any shipment which contains “a word starting with filter”
  • brass,copper,nickel : any shipment which contains “brass or copper or nickel”
  • brass pipe* : any shipment which contains “ brass pipe or bras pipes or brass piping”
  • HS Code : 85,92 = will search for chapter 85 and 92
  • HS Code : 8544,8505,8504 = will search for subheading 8544 or 8505 or 8504
• Wrong Search Example:
• Filters ; will miss out shipments with word “ filter”
• brass copper nickel : will pickup only those shipments which have all the three words.
• brass pipes : will miss out brass pipe or brass piping.

Searching by Product Description:




Example	Expression	keyword	Result
1	Using Wild card :*	Filter*	Will capture all product descriptions containing a word which starts with “brass” Example results will include Filter, Filters, Filtering, Filtered
2	Using Coma for Multiple Words	Brass,copper,nickel,aluminium	Will capture all product descriptions containing any one of the words.
3	All words	Brass pipes	Will capture only those product descriptions which contain both the words.




Wrong Examples




1	Using single words without a Wild card	Filter	Data of Filters, Filtered , filtering will not be picked up by search.
2	Using multiple keywords without comma	Brass copper aluminum	Data of only those shipments which contain all the keywords will be picked up by search
3	Using multiple keywords with common words	Brass and copper and aluminum	Data of only those shipments which contain all the keywords and “AND” will be picked up by search




Searching by HS Code ( Harmonized Code)


Search by HS code often gives good results , as there are no spelling mistakes to worry about or one has to know all the possible product keywords. (Note : Around 10% of data is not classified correctly.)

Search at Sub Heading level	8544*	Will capture all records of Subheading ter 8544 All hs codes starting from 8544. Possible Examples : 85441000, 85441001, 85441002
Search at 8 digit product level	85441000*	Will capture only those product descriptions which contain both the words.
Multiple HS Codes , Usage of Coma	Multiple Chapter : 85*, 92* Multiple chapter or Subheading : 8542*, 9934*, 76*, 3456789*	Will capture all shipment which have any of the HS codes mentioned.
