Rakesh Saraf founded InfodriveIndia Pvt Ltd.in 1996.

The basic objective was to fill the gap of inadequate export import information that existed in India.

During the course of Exports, Rakesh found that it was very difficult for a Indian Exporter or Importer or a Overseas Company to find meaningful and concrete information about Indian Export Import Trade.

The delayed Govt Sources and obsolete methods of dissemination of information further compounded the problems.

Rakesh launched InfodriveIndia in 1997 and instantly InfodriveIndia created many records.

•  First to provide updated Exim Policy on net.
  
• First to provide India Export Import Data on net.
  
• First to create a Online Exim Policy Portal
  
• First to include Custom Duty in Export Import Data
  
• First to provide Export Import Trade Intelligence of 40 countries
  
• First to provide Custom Duty, DEBB , Drawback , IO Norms, Hs Classification , Notifications in searchable formats.

Though launch InfodriveIndia inspired many websites on Exports imports but none of them could keep such vast amount of information in updated form and searchable form.

Most of them turned out the mere replicas of Govt websites, which had outdated information in PDF formats.

After the dotcom bust, even InfodriveIndia had problems in meeting the costs and it went through its share of ups and downs. However though sheer perseverance Rakesh continued to support the portal with his own resources and revamped the portal once again to keep up with the new technologies.

Rakesh feels still a lot needs to be done, and plans to launch few more initiatives in Export Import trade in near future.

Rakesh belongs to Marwari community of Rajasthan and lives with his wife and kids in New Delhi.
